YSL
Founded by designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre BergΓ© in 1962, YSL logos were designed in 1963 by A. M. Cassandre.
YSL are credited with popularizing many fashion looks,. In the 1960s and 1970s, this was the beatnik look, complete with safari jackets, tight pants, and thigh-high boots. The 1960s also saw the brand introduce a ready-to-wear Rive Gauche line and the now-famous Le Smoking, a tuxedo suit for women.
YSL often features designs that are influenced by traditional Chinese clothing lines, Pop Art themes, Ballet Russes, and
Picasso, the artist. The designer is also credited with launching the broad, shoulder-padded style that so heavily influenced 1980s fashion.
